About Us

Rachel
Born and raised in Victoria, Rachel has felt very lucky to have grown up in such a beautiful place by the sea. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at the University of Victoria in 2015, Rachel went on to study herbal plants at Pacific Rim College, and is now enrolled in the Restoration of Natural Systems program.
Horticulture has always been an interest of hers and she has spent the last few years learning about permaculture and gardening. In her adult life, Rachel has continued to expand her knowledge while enjoying her time outside.
Rachel also has a substantial interest in environmental education. She has spent time volunteering with LifeCycles Growing Schools program teaching elementary school children how to garden, as well as working for SeaChange Conservation Society teaching kids about ethnobotany at SṈIDȻEȽ.

Big Blue
Big Blue is staying true to her roots as a landscaping truck. After spending the last three years living in Ladysmith, she protested going back to work by busting a timing gear. While she’s a little rusty around the edges, with her nice new side panels, 8 foot box, and inline 6 engine, she’s ready to get back to working hard.
